Who we are

A nurse-owned home health agency that takes the coordination off your family.

Alara brings skilled nursing and therapy into the home across Clark County, Nevada, and coordinates all of it, the clinical care and the benefits paperwork, so none of it is missed, and covered care comes at no cost to you.

What we take off you

One person at the center. Every thread, one thing we do.

Every thread is one piece of coordination the family never has to touch — a renewal, a referral, a refill, an update. Some of it runs automatically, some is our care team by hand. Hover any thread to see it.

Why we exist

Care moved into the home. The help to manage it didn’t follow.

More care happens at home now than ever before: skilled nursing, wound care, infusion, therapy, the kind of treatment that used to require a hospital bed. But the families living it were left to run all of it themselves. They were coordinating nurses, chasing authorizations, and decoding benefits they had earned but were not receiving.

Alara was built so the family does not have to run all of it. One team keeps the clinical care and the paperwork in one place, so the people we serve can spend their attention on the person they love, not on a benefits program they should never have had to learn.

Who owns your care

Who owns the agency shows up in your care.

In much of home health, a layer sits between whoever owns the business and whoever is accountable for your visit — investors, boards, someone far from the bedside deciding what happens when care and margin disagree.

At Alara there is no layer. The owner is a nurse. The person responsible for the agency is the same kind of person responsible for your care, and a Director of Nursing reviews every start of care. We are independent, local to Las Vegas, and we intend to stay both.

And we do not stop at helping you file. Alara is the agency built to deliver the care your White Card covers, so the people who help you claim the benefit are the people who show up to provide it.

Our founder

After two decades improving healthcare at scale, she saw the center of healthcare moving from institutions to the home — and founded Alara to build for that future.

Alara’s founder is a healthcare executive, clinician, and entrepreneur who has spent more than two decades building, scaling, and improving healthcare systems across the country. She has worked alongside providers, health plans, regulators, and policymakers on some of the industry’s most complex problems — shaping programs that serve vulnerable populations, building healthcare networks at scale, and leading operations that have reached more than one million patients.

That experience spans the full healthcare ecosystem: direct patient care and clinical operations, reimbursement, compliance, government programs, and large-scale delivery. She understands not only how care is provided, but how the systems behind it are built, funded, regulated, and improved — which is exactly the knowledge a family needs on its side when the payer is a federal program.

The future she built Alara for: patients living longer with complex chronic conditions, care coordinated across providers and settings, technology that takes work off families and clinicians rather than adding to it — and exceptional care delivered in the place people are most comfortable, their home. That vision guides every part of Alara today: clinical excellence, operational discipline, and modern technology, in service of patients staying safe, comfortable, and supported at home.

How we work

Four commitments built into how we run.

Not standard in home health. They apply on every admission and every visit.

A Director of Nursing reviews every start of care.

Our DON reviews every start-of-care assessment before it is submitted. Not a coordinator, not a supervisor. The most clinically accountable person in the agency reviews every admission.

We screen the whole person.

At every admission we screen for depression, malnutrition, social isolation, and caregiver burden using validated tools, because those things determine whether clinical treatment works. For White Card patients, we screen for consequential conditions that may qualify for expanded coverage at no additional cost.

One-hour response.

When you call Alara, you reach our clinical team within one hour during business hours. After hours, a nurse calls you first thing the next business day.

No authorization lapses.

Our scheduling blocks visits without a valid authorization number, and renewals are tracked in advance. Patients never receive care they are not covered for, and coverage does not lapse mid-episode. We coordinate billing across multiple payers so families never have to.

One named person owns your case.

Not a call center — a Care Guide who knows your claim, your physician, and your family by name, backed by AlaraOS so nothing waits on memory. Meet the Care Guide role →

How we bill

Billed for exactly the care that happened. Nothing else.

This field has seen agencies bill the government for visits that never happened. We put our standard in writing: every visit we bill is a visit that occurred, documented in the care record at the time of care. A Director of Nursing reviews every start of care. The Department of Labor pays us directly — you never receive a bill — and we never take a percentage of anyone’s compensation.

If you ever have a question about something billed under your card, ask us, or ask the DOL’s billing administrator directly at (800) 736-6001. You are entitled to both answers.

Tell us what is going on. A nurse takes it from there.

No claim forms to figure out and no program you need to name. Leave your number, and a nurse calls you about what is happening and what is covered, including the benefits paperwork.
