When a physician orders skilled home health for a covered condition, these federal programs pay for it in full, at no cost to you. Below is who each program is for and what it covers at home. We confirm what applies to you and handle the authorizations.

For Nevada Test Site, DOE, and atomic weapons workers.

For former Nevada Test Site and Nevada National Security Site workers, Department of Energy and Atomic Weapons Employer workers, and eligible survivors with an accepted EEOICPA condition.

Worth mentioning, and often missed

Consequential conditions can be added to the card. A family member already providing daily care may be paid as a home health aide with registered-nurse supervision. The White Card and Medicare can be used together.

OWCP / FECA

For federal and postal workers with an accepted injury or illness.

For federal and postal (USPS) workers with an OWCP-accepted work-related injury or illness.

Cost

Generally no out-of-pocket cost when the claim is accepted and care is authorized. Coverage requires a physician order and OWCP authorization.

VA Community Care / TriWest

For veterans authorized for care in the community.

For enrolled veterans authorized for community care when the VA cannot readily provide it directly. In Region 4, which includes Nevada, the network is administered by TriWest.

Cost

No cost to veterans authorized for community care. The VA authorizes and pays directly. A VA referral, authorization, and provider order are required.

TRICARE West

For eligible military families and retirees.

For eligible active-duty family members, retirees, and dependents in Southern Nevada. TriWest administers TRICARE West in Nevada.

The benefits that are easiest to miss.

Some of the most valuable coverage is also the least obvious, simply because these programs are complex. If any of these apply to you, the navigator can show what may be yours.

A family member already providing daily care may be paid as a home health aide, with registered-nurse supervision, under the White Card.
